Product intro and specs
The ZOVOO DRAGBAR B5000 Cosmic Edition is an updated version of the MTL rechargeable disposable vape that I previously reviewed earlier this year. I had a great experience with the original DRAGBAR B5000 and found it to be on par, if not better, than the Elf Bar.
The new DRAGBAR B5000 Cosmic Edition is an eye-catching disposable vape that I was eagerly anticipating. It offers more than just new colors. It features an upgraded mesh coil, glossy exterior with “cosmic” colors, a crystal mouthpiece, and a tempting lineup of ten new flavors such as peach mango watermelon and blueberry slushie (which I couldn’t wait to try!).
For those unfamiliar with the DRAGBAR B5000, it shares similarities with the Elf Bar but offers a more substantial feel in the hand and a symmetrical body. Both devices claim to provide up to 5000 puffs and have a similar size, although the DRAGBAR is slightly larger and houses a 500 mAh battery. The DRAGBAR B5000 contains 13 mL of e-liquid with nicotine concentrations of either 20 mg/mL or 50 mg/mL.
With all the upgrades in mind, my expectations were high for another exceptional vaping experience. Read on to find out if those expectations were met.

Size, look, and feel
The ZOVOO DRAGBAR B5000 showcases the creativity of the design team. From a pure design standpoint, I believe they did an excellent job with the Cosmic Edition. While it may not fully capture the “cosmic” theme, the vibrant color gradients and glossy appearance are visually appealing.
Compared to the original B5000 and the Elf Bar, which both had a matte finish that could feel slippery, the glossy exterior of the B5000 Cosmic Edition offers a more secure grip.
The mouthpiece of the Cosmic Edition is wider and better designed compared to the Elf Bar. It retains the same style as the previous version but is now made of crystal instead of plastic. I already liked the mouthpiece before, but the upgrade to crystal enhances its overall look and feel.
While I appreciate the colorful gradients and glossy finish of the Cosmic Edition for their tactile and visual appeal, I personally prefer the simplicity and solid colors of the original B5000. The original version exudes a bit more elegance and has a more subdued appearance, which is my preference for a device I carry in my pocket.
Getting started
The DRAGBAR B5000 Cosmic Edition is a convenient and ready-to-use vape device straight out of the package. One notable aspect to mention is the placement of the charge port, which is located on the bottom of the device. To charge the B5000 Cosmic Edition, you will need a USB-C cord, but please note that it is not included in the box.
How does it hit?
As mentioned, the B5000 Cosmic Edition features an upgraded mesh coil. The original B5000 had an excellent MTL draw that I found to be perfect, striking a balance between tightness and smoothness. I’m pleased to report that the Cosmic Edition retains the same satisfying draw. It delivers smooth and quick hits with a quiet operation, thanks to the utilization of mesh coils that provide an almost immediate and enjoyable vaping experience.
However, when it comes to the overall pleasure of the hit, there seems to be an issue with the upgraded coils. Both mesh coils have a rating of 1.1 ohm to 1.3 ohm, but their performance is not up to par. It feels as though there might be a small hot spot in the mesh or that the device is overpowering the coil. It’s challenging for me to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue, but I can attest to the fact that the performance is unsatisfactory. Unfortunately, all the coils exhibited the same underwhelming performance.
Are the flavors any good?
Upon receiving the DRAGBAR B5000 Cosmic Edition, I was initially drawn to the appealing flavors and designs, except for the root beer flavor, which didn’t pique my interest.
With enticing names like wildberry mojito, peach mango watermelon, and blueberry smoothie, I had high hopes of finding several flavors that I would love. In the previous version of the DRAGBAR B5000, there were flavors that I raved about, especially their strawberry milk flavor.
Regrettably, none of the flavors I tried in the Cosmic Edition compelled me to vape them again. Moreover, all of my devices seemed to have an off taste, which hindered my ability to truly enjoy the flavors. While I would like to attribute the poor hits to affecting the flavor experience, the flavors themselves didn’t taste very appealing to me. It’s possible that this is purely subjective, or perhaps there was an issue with my particular batch. As for the coils, it could be a batch-related problem, but when it comes to the flavors, I don’t believe that to be the case. These flavors don’t seem to have the same level of quality as the ones in the original DRAGBAR B5000.
How long do they last?
Given that the battery has not been changed in the DRAGBAR B5000 Cosmic Edition, it is reasonable to assume that the devices still have long battery life. In my previous review, I mentioned that with moderate vaping, one device could last several days or even longer, surpassing the longevity of the Elf Bar BC5000. While I did not count the exact number of puffs to reach 5000, I have charged some of them twice and they continue to function. The impressive longevity of the B5000 remains unchanged.
The charging time is likely still around an hour, and unfortunately, there is no pass-thru charging feature available.
Pros / Cons
- Holds 13 mL
- Glossy body is easy to hold
- Rechargeable
- Crystal mouthpiece feels luxe
- Nice MTL draw
- Two nicotine options
- The coil tastes like it has a short
- The flavors sound good but taste off
- No pass-thru charging
Verdict
I had high expectations for the ZOVOO DRAGBAR Cosmic Edition and was excited to try it out. The devices in the Cosmic Edition are visually appealing and boast high-quality construction, reflecting the skill and expertise of the manufacturing and design team. However, it is important to remember that disposables are not just about their external appearance. The performance and enjoyment of a disposable device rely heavily on the quality of the coil and the flavors provided, and unfortunately, both aspects in the Cosmic Edition fall significantly below industry standards, let alone the standards set by the previous edition.
Thankfully, the original ZOVOO DRAGBAR is still available and I continue to strongly recommend it. However, in the case of the Cosmic Edition, I strongly advise against purchasing it.
